Overview

SayBay is a guided American-English shadowing app. We collect only the information needed to provide the app, maintain your learning progress, and keep the service reliable.

Information we use

Depending on how you use SayBay, this may include:

• Account information supplied by Apple or Google, such as your name and email address.
• A technical account identifier when you use SayBay as a guest.
• Your lesson activity and progress, including completed and retried practice items.
• Feedback you choose to submit about lesson audio or content.

We use this information to operate your account, save progress, improve lesson content, respond to support needs, and protect the service.

Microphone and voice recordings

SayBay asks for microphone permission only when you choose to record practice audio. Recordings used for local playback stay on your device. If you choose pronunciation assessment, the recording is sent securely to our speech-processing provider to return an assessment. SayBay does not retain that recording after the assessment request is completed.

Service providers

We rely on carefully selected providers to run the service, including authentication, database, storage, and speech-processing providers. They may process information only to provide services for SayBay and subject to their applicable agreements and policies.

Data retention and deletion

We keep account and learning-progress data while your account is active. You can delete your account from Settings in the app. Deleting your account permanently removes your associated app data. Guest accounts can be deleted from Settings as well.

Security and changes

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no service can guarantee absolute security. We may update this policy as SayBay changes; the current version and its effective date will always appear on this page.
